Optica is a modern mechanical keyboard designed to combine aesthetics with performance. It features a unique case design inspired by contemporary keyboard styles, aiming to stand out without being overly flashy. The keyboard supports various layouts, including WK, WKL, and HHKB, with a typing angle of 6.9° and a front height of either 17.9mm or 22.0mm. Weighing approximately 1.54kg when fully built, it employs a combination of plate-mount and O-ring gasket mounting for enhanced acoustics. The Optica's construction includes an aluminium top and bottom case, an aluminium plate, and stainless steel weights, ensuring durability and a premium feel. It operates with a 1.6mm FR4 PCB, compatible with MX switches, and includes both hotswap and solder PCBs. The kit comes complete with various components such as gaskets, rubber feet, and a carry case. Scheduled for availability in a group buy format from January to February 2025, the estimated price is $399 USD, which includes two PCBs and stainless steel weights, with a final price of $349 USD after adjustments. Color options are still being finalized, with raw and silver finishes confirmed.
