The Ortholinear PCB for Exent is a custom-designed printed circuit board intended as a drop-in replacement for the Exent keyboard. It features an ortholinear layout inspired by the Boardwalk PCB but includes an additional column to fit the 65% Exent form factor. The PCB will use a Mini USB plug, and while it has a fixed layout, it accommodates Ergodox keycap sets along with some extra keycaps. Notably, the Esc switch has been rotated due to space constraints, preventing backlight LED integration on that key. The design will be powered by QMK and will not support hotswap functionality, though a plate option will be available. The creator plans to release the entire design as open source, inviting community improvements. Pricing will be determined based on interest gauged through an interest check (IC), and production will be undertaken in Europe. The creator emphasizes a unique approach by not collecting funds upfront, opting instead to invest personally in the project.
