The concept originated from Gondolindrim, who envisioned a self-charging keyboard that would rarely require external charging. The keyboard features a solar panel positioned to harness sunlight effectively, although real-world testing indicates that it may not achieve full autonomy under average office lighting conditions. Users might need to charge it occasionally, especially in less luminous environments like homes. However, the solar feature can extend battery life significantly. The Soleil is equipped with a 780 mAh battery and utilizes ZMK software, promising a battery life of up to 10 months without solar power, depending on usage.
