Vam05 Keyboard Kit

The Vam05 Keyboard Kit is a compact 40% keyboard designed for portability and functionality, featuring adjustable-hardness gasket mounting. It includes number keys 1–6 and arrow keys, making it suitable for various tasks. The keyboard operates on ZMK firmware, allowing for both wired and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless modes, with real-time key remapping accessible via ZMK Studio. The PCB is built around an nRF52840 chip and includes MX hot-swap sockets and RGB under-glow lighting. It features three multifunction indicator LEDs for layer switching, Caps Lock status, battery charging, and Bluetooth connection. The design includes a battery power toggle switch for complete power-off when a battery is installed, although batteries are not included due to shipping restrictions. It is compatible with the HAC-006 battery, which is widely available. Inspired by the popular v4n4g0n layout, the Vam05 aims to provide a modern wireless experience while retaining essential functionality. The keyboard has a default typing angle of 4°, with an option for 7.5° using additional feet. Notably, while the design does not support split spacebars due to the placement of the microcontroller, it is compatible with other PCBs that do.
