The 618 keyboard by Zepsody, initially named "Longhorn," is a custom-designed 1800 layout mechanical keyboard, created to address the designer's dissatisfaction with existing models. The name "618" is inspired by the TON 618 black hole, highlighting the keyboard's substantial size. Key features include an 8-degree typing angle, a Mechlovin PCB with QMK and VIA support, and options for hotswap or solderable configurations. It is compatible with MX and Alps switches and constructed from durable 6063 aluminum. The design incorporates a centered USB-C universal daughterboard, LED indicator lights, and a Poron gasket mount with silicone side gaskets for stability. The keyboard's prototype weighs approximately 10.6 lbs (4.7 kg) when fully assembled. The designer is currently refining the plate design for better flex and is open to feedback before finalizing the next prototype round.
